The Secret of the Qing Dinasty

Personal Reflection
This project has a very special place for me, and it is because I am passionate about illustration and drawing and this exercise allowed me to explore many technical and conceptual aspects that an illustrated book requires. As well as understanding aspects of editorial design and printing when making a model or sample of it a reality, , so that it is realistic and replicable in real life.
From this project I take away:
- The understanding of how to digitize illustrations that are made by hand with hours of work for detail and that in digitization the technical work is not lost.
- Understand how to optimize resources, layout and prepare files to print in booklets and have a finished product.
- Get lost in the world of papers, their textures, tones and weights and explore how that can affect the design and the reader's experience.
- Design characters, draw fictitious scenarios and give free rein to my imagination supported by a textual narration. Applied illustration requires study and planning of each page to have an adequate rhythm and exposure.
